About Youth 默默的我，不默默的我們 is a new Taiwanese BL series that premiered on August 29, 2022. It is adapted from the Taiwanese BL novel, 默默 written by Szumi Huang 黃思蜜 published at Mirror Fiction 鏡文學. The theme song and closing theme songs are written, composed and sung by the just turned 20-year-old newcomer 77Ke 柯棨棋. Only the main theme song has been released at the moment and I’ll add the closing theme song when it’s available. Below is a 7-minute teaser of the drama series…
The Mid-Autumn Festival this year falls on September 10, 2022. What do you eat on this festival? Mooncakes, of course! The Cantonese mooncakes are very common commercially and much more difficult and also time consuming to make at home and you also need a mooncake mould to shape the mooncake. However the Taiwanese versions are much more easier to make as they are made with the Chinese flaky pastry. Below are two cooking videos from 2016 demonstrating the making of two traditional Taiwanese mooncakes, one sweet (red bean filling) and the other savoury (mung bean filling) by Taiwanese food writer/instructor, 蔡季芳 (阿芳老師).

Takara-kun & Amagi-kun 高良くんと天城くん is a new 8-episode Japanese BL series that premiered on the early hours of August 19, 2022 in Japan. It is based on the manga by Hanage no Mai はなげのまい. The theme song has just been released but only in audio format…
I have been getting into aroids recently. In the past, I did have a fruit salad plant, Monstera deliciosa, but I have to get rid of it as it was getting too big and took up too much space in my little balcony. Another reason was there were already a couple of this plant in the garden beds around the courtyard downstairs in my apartment block, so I can still enjoy this plant without having another one taking up space in my balcony. I also had a rabbit’s foot plant, Maranta leuconeura ‘Kerchoviana’, for many years but it rotted last Spring which was sad…
(more…)Apart from the 188 BL series of novels, author Shui Qian Cheng 水千丞 has also written other BL novels with mysterious, fantasy adventure settings and Dragon Blood 龍血 is one of these novels. It is a novel I read about 2 years ago and I really enjoyed it and there are now two seasons of audio drama based on this novel. I’ve found 3 songs from the audio drama…

(more…)Last year, I posted a list of the all-time most popular Chinese BL novels published at Jinjiang Literature City 晉江文學城. The top novels in that list will stay quite stable without too much changes as long as their accumulated points remain high, or some new popular novels pushed them down the list; the only thing that will make them drop out of the list completely without warning is the banning of the novels! That was exactly what happened a couple of months later after I posted that list, the number 1 and number 3 novels respectively, 天官賜福 and 撒野, were banned and disappeared from the list, so if you go to check the current list now, those two novels are nowhere to be seen.
