Love in the Ruck is a 60-episode dark romance western vertical BL/LGBTQ+ series that dropped just a few hours ago on June 25, 2026 (US time) on MyDrama. This is another sport BL, but thankfully NOT inside the gazillion ice hockey rinks in the recent history of vertical series, instead it is set on the rugby pitch which I think is the first time in vertical dramas. I don’t know if calling these western vertical dramas as western BL series is strictly correct, yes they have BL elements but most of them have very macho actors in them compared to the traditional image of Asian BL from its Japanese influence that has more effeminate looking protagonists with pale skin… Anyway these “western BL” vertical series are still telling fantasy storylines instead of a more realistic LGBTQ+ representation of the real world, so I will continue to label them as western BL series, LOL…
They’re rivals on the same team. They hate each other. Everyone else can feel the chemistry.
