10 years after… OK, this is an upcoming new Chinese BL series that will reunite the two actors who portrayed the secondary couple in Addicted 上癮, the hit series from 2016 that was banned in China. The news has been floating around the cyberspace the past few weeks and even rumoured to air a couple of days ago (10 years anniversary of Addicted first broadcast), which didn’t happen… Now GagaOOLala has teased us that Love After Addiction 許你十年 will premiere (supposedly) on February 6, 2026 on their streaming platform, but that page mysteriously disappeared soon after, and you can’t find it in their upcoming section either at the moment, LOL… So will it premiere on February 6 or not, we will have to wait and see…
Update February 1, 2026: A few hours after I published this post, the official announcement was released… It is official, this series starts streaming February 6, 2026 internationally only… I have added the official poster and teaser below…
At this point in time, there are very little useful information about the series! Probably to avoid attention from the you-know-who just in case… We are still not sure if this series will be a spin-off, or sequel to the 2016 series, or a new story… We are not even sure if the author of the Addicted novel herself, Chai Jidan, is involved in this new series or not. However from the synopsis given out in that GagaOOLala missing page indicated the names of the protagonists are different but sound similar to the names from the 2016 series… Also the other new couple in this new series, are they supposed to be the reincarnation of Gu Hai and Bai Luoyin?

Update February 1, 2026: Here are the official poster and the teaser from the official Taiwanese broadcaster… From what I can gather, this is neither a spin-off nor sequel to the 2016 series… It is more like an alternate universe story 10 years later, or a fanfic continuation of the story ten years later. There are subtle name changes of the secondary couple from the 2016’s Addicted to the main protagonists in this new series – You Qi 尤其 (Addicted 2016) to You Xi 尤戲, and Yang Meng 楊猛 (Addicted 2016) to Yang Meng 陽蒙 (note different Chinese characters for Yang Meng even though they have the same pinyin). I went back and checked the novel again since I only have vague memory of the story to the secondary couple in the novel, You Qi 尤其 indeed became an actor in book 2 of the novel, and Yang Meng 楊猛 was a policeman and later manipulated to become You Qi 尤其’s bodyguard, so there are also changes to the novel. We will have to wait and see if the new secondary couple here are a CEO and an air force officer…
