Hooray, for fans of the Canadian mystery series Murdoch Mysteries, ABC TV in Australia has got the rights to broadcast the first 3 movies (2004-2005) and the first 8 seasons of the series (Season 1 started in 2008) starting March 2, 2026. Of course the best thing about ABC TV is that all shows are free to watch and commercial free! The latest series is already up to Season 19 which is currently airing in Canada. The ABC broadcast of the first 3 movies and the first 8 seasons are aired at around 4pm weekdays, and repeated at around or after midnight on the same day starting Monday March 2, 2026 until March 4, 2026 for the movies. Season 1 will start Friday March 6, 2026 on ABC TV and continues every weekday I presume, so that is 5 episodes per week. Of course you can stream the whole thing on ABC iview. I am very excited to watch these early episodes as I have not seen them before. I think I started watching around Season 10, or there about, so I can now watch these early movies and episodes commercial-free is just like a New Year present, LOL…
Update March 12, 2026: OK, it seems there are only four episodes per week. The same Thursday timeslot is curiously showing repeats of Sister Boniface Mysteries, so Murdoch Mysteries is on from Monday to Thursday, a break on Thursday and back on Friday, very weird programming, LOL… My guess is they are showing repeats of Sister Boniface Mysteries in anticipation of its new season which is coming soon?
