Sammy’s Children’s Day 初三的六一兒童節 is a 9-episode Cantonese triad crime BL series which premiered on March 13, 2026. It is adapted from the webnovel of the same name by She Xie Dian Dian 蛇蠍點點. Even though they have dropped teasers and trailers over the past week for this new series, the actual date of release was not announced until just a few hours before its premiere and caught everyone by surprise. The novel has already been adapted into a full-cast audiobook 有聲劇 and an audio drama 廣播劇 previously.
Set in 1980s Kowloon Walled City, where triads run rampant and corruption infects the police force, He Chusan dreams of studying hard and escaping the chaos. His plans collapse when Xia Liuyi, a triad deputy leader, forcibly pulls him into a criminal scheme. As conspiracies unfold and power struggles intensify, the two men move from reluctant allies to partners in revenge. He Chusan, a calculating yet deeply devoted financial strategist, and Xia Liuyi, a fierce but unexpectedly tender enforcer, find themselves fighting side by side. In a lawless city balanced between black and white, love becomes their most dangerous gamble. Can they carve out a path to survival for each other?
On a side note, one of the lead actors of this BL drama, He Changxi 何昶希, also has a part in another Chinese costume period drama Pursuit of Jade 逐玉 recently. However according to reports, his face in Pursuit of Jade was altered by AI after news of him acting in this BL series was publicized… This shows how serious an issue it is for Chinese actors doing BL series even though these BL series are not even allowed to be shown in China!
