Plus & Minus +–正負之間 is a new Taiwanese and Japanese co-produced BL series that premiered on April 15, 2022. However it has taken them nearly 2 months to release the theme songs from the series. Eric Chou has released a new single to thank and compensate his fans after having been forced to delay his concerts which was supposed to start on May 13, 2022 in Taipei. It is quite a folksy song with a cheerful beat… This is the second new song written by him this month following the recent release of another song he wrote for A-Lin, Best Friend 摯友… Only the audio version is available at the moment.

Let’s Open 來吧！營業中 is a new 13-episode Taiwanese reality TV show that premiered on March 19, 2022 in Taiwan and March 27, 2022 on Netflix. The show centred around 6 Taiwanese celebrities who are tasked to open a business from scratch which happens to be an eatery. According to reports, in the last three weeks (eps 6, 7 & 8), it has become so popular it is now the most watched Taiwanese show on Netflix.
Silvia Colloca is back for a third season of Cook Like an Italian, where she’ll explore the timeless Italian passion for homemade ingredients and family food rituals. Season 3 premiered last night, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, on SBS Food at 8pm. I nearly forgot as in previous years, SBS usually premiered their home grown new series on Thursday instead of Tuesday…

A-Mei’s first two albums released were two of the biggest selling albums of the 1990s and many of her songs became classics in the second half of the 90s as well. Wu Di In Love 無敵愛上你 is the first Mandarin language BL web series from Malaysia that first streamed online from February 14, 2022 to February 25, 2022. However it’s not the first Malaysian BL series, the first was the Malay language BL series that streamed in December last year, Stay Away from Me.
I had a quick glance at episode 1 and the screaming girls in the first scene is not a good sign, LOL… However I like the theme song which is sung by Taiwanese singer, Afalian Lufic 盧學叡…

KinnPorsche The Series: La Forte is a new 14-episode Thai BL series that premiered on April 2, 2022. The series is based on the webnovel of the same name by Daemi. Outside Thailand, the series is available on the international branch of the Chinese streaming platform, iQiyi. It is very interesting as China banned all BL series but international branch of the Chinese streaming platforms such as iQiyi, Bilibili, & Tencent (WeTV) are now all very active in streaming BL series outside China! The official Chinese title 黑幫少爺愛上我 means Young Gangster Master Fell in Love with Me, LOL… By the way, La Forte version of KinnPorsche is the uncut full version of the series available on iQiyi…

Last year we have the Swedish series Young Royals, this year we are getting another excellent LGBTQ+ coming-of-age series from the UK, Heartstopper. Based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman, the brand new 8-episode series premiered on April 22, 2022. It is a very good and well told story that I binge watched all 8 30-minute episodes last night and thoroughly enjoyed the series.
The songs used in the new series are very much all previous releases from the indie pop artists around the world. However there is one new song that was released in conjunction with the series by Baby Queen. The composer in charge of the music scores for the series is Adiescar Chase.
