The second installment of Luke Nguyen’s Greater Mekong begins on SBS ONE next Thursday night, October 25, 2012, at 8pm. Continuing the journey from where he left off at the end of series one, the acclaimed chef ventures even deeper into the Mekong region visiting previously unexplored communities and food cultures in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam’s Mekong Delta.
Beginning in Vientiane, Luke seeks out local foodie haunts and tries his hand at local delicacies such as Duck’s blood salad. He then heads north to the World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, before travelling South down to the 4000 Islands and across the Mekong River border to Cambodia, where he explores the ancient ruins and cuisines of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. Finally Luke finishes his journey in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta to further explore the country of his heritage.
