Tomorrow, February 8, is the Lantern Festival (元宵節), or the 15th day, or the last day of the Lunar New Year Celebrations, so let’s have a little fun watching this snippet of game show webisode of Half and Half from Taiwan.
I literally fell off my chair while watching this webisode from laughing so much! To understand the game, you really need to know at least a little Hokkien dialect to get the ubsurdity of the way the relay of the language went from one person to the next! Most of them can’t speak Taiwanese Hokkien, so they really need to rely on remembering and at least partly correct pronunciation of the words to pass on the messages… a few of them have the memory of a goldfish, literally forgot at least 50% of the short sentences in just a few seconds and so the hilarity ensued!
This compilation is from two episodes from last year, actually the bits that ended on the cutting room floor, so they put them on the web as a bonus webisode. In the compilation above, the two hosts hinted/talked about something that were not making much sense because they were referring to other things that happened earlier on in the episodes, so I have included the two full episodes below, which aired respectively on August 22, 2019 (ep 1141), and August 29, 2019 (ep 1145) in Taiwan.
