Something fun first…
This is from season 2 of Sing! China (中國新歌聲2) in 2017 when Eason pretended to be a contestant auditioning and started the song all out of tune… Here’s also a short compilation video someone put together including the Cantonese version, and a small cameo by J J Lin who also sang the song in his concert.
Wow, can’t believe this Mandarin version came out way back in 2003 (the original Cantonese version Today Next Year (明年今日) was released in 2002), and I have been listening to this song on and off all these years! In 2010, a radio station did a survey to choose the 20 best loved Chinese love songs for the first decade of the 21st century, and this song took first place!
