
Gâteau Basque is a traditional dessert from the Northern Basque region of France, typically filled with black cherry jam or pastry cream. Traditionally round in shape, but here in this video, it is made into long rectangular shape, probably for presentation purposes.
Palets Bretons are golden and thick butter biscuits from Brittany, they are also known as Traou-Mad (which means “good things” in Breton). Sablés Bretons are similar to Palets Bretons but are thinner.
Please note that in the video below, the name Galette Bretonne is also included which is a mistake as Galette Bretonne is also known as Crêpe Bretonne and it is a savoury French buckwheat crêpe filled with ham, egg and cheese.
