This new Japanese BL TV series has one of the longest and oddest titles I’ve come across, LOL… Based on the web-manga series, Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! (30歳まで童貞だと魔法使いになれるらしい) by Yū Toyota, the TV series started airing on October 8, 2020, and so far 2 episodes out of 5 (Update October 24, 2020: I think I was wrong about the series having 5 episodes only, may have 12 episodes in total?) have been broadcast. I have watched both episodes, and it is VERY GOOD! It is also extremely funny, but you need to pay attention to what are being spoken aloud and what are their inner thoughts. Another one to add to the must-watch BL series of 2020! I have been trying to find the theme song videos but to no avail so far, only video-cuts of the opening and closing theme songs from the opening and closing credits, and a short TikTok video. But as soon as they decide to put out official music videos of both songs, I will add them here.

Update October 26, 2020: Interesting news that this TV series is currently ranked No. 1 at the Chinese site Douban as the most talked about TV shows, even though BL TV shows are banned there. It is also getting a 9.3/10 ratings based on viewers voting after only 3 episodes, with over 70% giving it a 5-star rating.

“Cherry Magic” ranks first in “drama satisfaction” for 3 consecutive weeks – The momentum of the late-night drama “Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard” on TV TOKYO cannot be stopped. In the latest Oricon “drama satisfaction survey” * ranking (broadcast from November 24th to November 30th), the show registered a personal best of 87 points out of 100. It ranked first for the fourth time in a row for three weeks. Satisfaction after the first episode was sluggish at 27 points, but after the second episode, the satisfaction number increased rapidly.

Update December 2, 2020: Discussing scenes from the TV series during a live streaming with fans, this is a short news video from Taiwan with Chinese subtitles. During their first live stream when the show just started airing, there were just over 5 thousand fans watching, but during their latest live stream on November 26 (【日語中字】直播1, 直播2), there are now over 34 thousand fans at the live stream, an increase of 6 folds in just 8 weeks…

Sorry, I have no idea but my guess is that music is just part of the inccidental music from the TV series. The composer responsible for the music in the TV series is 堀口純香 (Sumika Horiguchi), I don’t know if that is of any help at all?
