Lovely Writer (數到十就親親你) is a new Thai BL series which will premiere on February 24, 2021. The Thai name of the series, นับสิบจะจูบ, actually means Dozens of Kisses, so you can see where the lyrics of the theme song came from… This show looks like a fun TV series from the trailer, so I’m looking forward to it!

Update June 4, 2021: What’s going on? I just posted a Mandarin song sung by one Love of Siam‘s actor Mario Maurer a few days ago, and now the other main lead of Love of Siam, Witwisit Hiranyawongkul, more popularly known as Pchy, also unexpectedly sung a Mandarin version of Don’t Turn the Page!

Update April 1, 2021: What the hell happened in Episode 6, that’s so unexpected! I knew Nubsib has a secret but I did not foresee that twist. So Nubsib is Gene’s cousin!!! I am also confused, Gene seems to be close to his aunt, Orn, so how come he hasn’t seen Nubsib all these years? His aunt said Nubsib just returned from overseas, does that mean Nubsib has lived overseas since he was a child, and with whom? Unless Nubsib’s parents have divorced and he went to live with his father overseas? But that does not seen possible because of the photo. Or Nubsib family has all lived overseas and just returned home, then how to explain Gene familiarity with his aunt as displayed in earlier episode of the phonecall and just randomly buying her a piece of cake, and with Neung (Nubsib’s brother?), if Gene knows Neung then how come he did not remember Nubsib? So many questions, LOL… Or the whole thing is that the “aunt” is not the real aunt from the family, but a polite way of referring to an older female as “aunt”? Also his change of surname must have been recent. There must be more to changing the surname than that explanation. Being an actor, he doesn’t need to use his real name at all, he could use a stage name and Gene would not be able to connect him to the Nubsib he knew as a child.

Also regarding the condos, did Gene say Nubsib’s family has many condos? I have also forgotten Gene lived in a house in episode 1, did I miss something, when did he move into a condo? I was scratching my head when he moved out of the condo and ended up in another bedroom, I was asking where the hell was that bedroom… It was the house in episode 1, LOL…

Update April 8, 2021: OK, Episode 7 cleared up all the confusions in Episode 6, so they are neighours, not related, LOL… Gene’s family moved into the neighourhood and stayed there for 2 years? Then either the family moved away, or Gene went to boarding school (that’s what the teenage Gene told Nubsib), but it seems like they actually moved away as the whole family got into the car. Then they must have moved back a few years later, but then Nubsib has gone overseas to study? This part is not very clear, because if it was only Gene going to boarding school, surely he would come back during the holidays and see Nubsib over the years, LOL… Anyway that’s why Gene hasn’t seen Nubsib for so long, but are more familiar with Aunt Orn and Nueng (Nubsib’s brother), well, that’s what I understood?

Also a few other things were explained, the toy dragon was actually Gene’s toy… Although the scene when Gene was playing with the toy dragons and completely ignored Nubsib was not logically done, because it was Gene who invited Nubsib to play with his toys… And all the other scenes of their childhood, Gene was very caring towards Nubsib, so the playing with the toys scene was totally out of character, just very confusing, LOL… And the theme song about 12345678910 Kiss, also the Chinese translated name, 數到十就親親你 which means Count to ten then Kiss You, now make sense, and the house and the condo were explained, so all good now. Love that they did not dwell on the fight, but solved the problem very quickly, and the last part of the episode, can I say, just too cute and adorable…

Update April 23, 2021: Have they run out of storylines already? LOL… I should not be watching Chinese drama concurrently with this show, it felt like snail crawling pace compared to Word of Honor! I nearly fell asleep the first hour of episode 9, fortunately the last half hour woke me up, LOL… In nearly 90 minutes of the episode, only 3 things were established, Aey actually likes Gene which still is a bit suspicious to me, Sib & Gene finally had a roll in the hay, and Gene’s father is also gay, that’s a bombshell revelation at the end… Why does Thai series feel like afternoon soapies with constant long staring shot? Especially Gene’s deer in headlights expression, and also all those scenes where they are not saying what’s in their minds and dragging the plotlines unnecessarily along which annoyed me so much! This episode could have been tightly edited to half the time of 45 minutes, the other 45 minutes were just all fillers sending me to sleep!

And just briefly back to Aey, I know all the things that happened before were to mislead us into thinking Aey was interested in Sib. However if Aey was trying to make Gene jealous by, for example asking Gene’s help to set up a lunch date with Sib, or that carpark scene of trying to kiss Sib, they did not make sense at all since Gene did not even care for Aey at all, or knew that Aey was interested in him, Gene. All that would do were just push Gene towards Sib instead of Aey? Also did anyone notice that when Aey was going through the photos of Gene on his phone, there was a photo of Gene with his mother in the living room at his parents’ house when he went back home that time (the time he found out who Sib really was), how the hell did Aey get that photo or who took it, was Aey stalking Gene, LOL…
