This is a new 40-episode TV series that began airing on March 11, 2021. The TV series is based on the same-name novel by Mu Qing Yu 沐清雨. I only knew about this new series due to the closing theme song which appeared as a YouTube recommendation. I like the song, so I checked up on the series, and on Douban ratings, it is currently at 8.1/10 ratings after only a week from 42,496 viewers’ votes. It has been compared to the 2016 Korean drama Descendants of the Sun due to the two protagonists being a special forces personnel and a doctor.
I may watch it at a later date if it can keep its above-8 ratings as my TV viewing list is so full at the moment I don’t want to start another series right at the moment. Although that may change if I started to ditch some of the ones I am currently watching, LOL… But first I also want to watch Ultimate Note 終極筆記 which has finished airing and still has an 8.5 ratings, so that is at the front of my viewing queue for now. So far this year I have ditched quite a few shows already, I could not get past half of Wish You or TharnType 2, nearly gave up on To My Star though I did struggle to at least finish it and the most disappointing series was Manner of Death which I was so looking forward to before it started, but the plot was so slow at the beginning, and then so many cliché and silly plotlines (the killing of Dr Bun was so obvious a setup that it has no suspense at all and that setup plotline was so ridiculous I rolled my eyes all the way through – especially after Tan saw his brother, and instead of going home straight away to release Bun whom he had handcuffed to the banister, he stopped to give Bun a call – really, come on, and then got captured and ordered to kill Bun, WHAT the hell was that??? How did the commander know Tan went to see his brother, was he followed, and if so, why not just followed him back to the hideout and take care of business there! Don’t even get me started on the plotline concerning That and Nam being held in that room, seriously(?!?), first the drugged Nam was not tied up so she can release That, then they tried to escape but failed, and we already know Nam tried to escape before but also failed, what’s the whole point of that plotline???) halfway through the series that I’m still stuck at about episode 10 and not watched the rest of the episodes! At the current time, I’m still watching 1000 Stars, Lovely Writer, WBL 2, History4 and Word of Honor, and hope they can hold my interest until the final episode, fingers crossed!
