Welcome into the world of doors 歡迎進入門的世界! I have just started reading this BL novel, Kaleidoscope of Death 死亡萬花筒, by Xi Zi Xu 西子緒 which is a highly recommended Chinese BL novel. It has a very unusual BL story with mystery, horror, supernatural, and suspenseful plotlines. At the moment, I have just reached the second door, and the clue is based around the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale, Fitcher’s Bird, so you can imagine where the story is going… As I was searching for songs from the audio drama, there is a song based on the Japanese children’s game of Kagome Kagome, so I am guessing another door leads to that in the later part of the novel… I won’t say too much about it yet as I am still very early into the novel, but I have to say after discovering Chinese BL novels, I have almost given up on watching BL TV series as nearly 80% of the TV series have very boring, amateurish plots. The only thing that keeps me interested in many of the current BL TV series is just the OST, LOL… If you are not afraid of reading horror stories, Novel Updates has the novel translated into English – I have just checked and they have virtually completed the translation just a few days ago.

Random Ramblings on BL Novels – Miracle 奇蹟 by Lin Peiyu 林珮瑜
Miracle 奇蹟 is a new BL novel from Taiwanese screenwriter/author, Lin Peiyu 林珮瑜, that was released in book format on April 20, 2021. For those of you who are not familiar with this author, Lin Peiyu penned the screenplays for a few of the Taiwanese HIStory BL series (HIStory: Obsessed 著魔, HIStory2: Right or Wrong 是非, HIStory2: Crossing the Line 越界, & HIStory3: Trapped 圈套) and also the recently aired WBL series (We Best Love: No. 1 For You 永遠的第一名 & We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd 第二名的逆襲). On the day of the release of the book, the publisher uploaded a 5-minute teaser video to promote the book which got me confused thinking it was a teaser for a new TV series because it looked so real like a TV drama! That teaser video even has two theme songs, and one of the songs was uploaded last week, which I have included below.

Ano Kiss あのときキスしておけば (Japanese TV OST)
Ano Toki Kiss Shite Okeba, or just Ano Kiss, is a new Japanese TV series that premiered on April 30, 2021. It is an 8-episode comedy series with the title of the series translated as If You Kissed Me Then or in Chinese, 要是當時吻了他／如果那時候接吻的話. So far, two episodes have aired and I really enjoyed both episodes as they are very funny, the third episode should go to air tonight in Japan. It is a soul-transfer story, that is a female soul ended up in a male body, and after epsiode one, it sort of turned into Ossan’s Love plotline, LOL… I know many BL fans do not accept this type of female-soul-in-a-male-body plot as BL, but I don’t mind, so I will tag it as BL. As long as the story is interesting and captivating, I will watch it and it already has a 8.1/10 ratings at Douban at the moment with nearly 50% of the viewers giving it 4 stars out of 5. Be Loved in House 約・定～I Do (Taiwanese Webdrama OST 片頭片尾插曲)
Be Loved in House is an upcoming 12-episode BL drama series from Taiwan that will premiere in Taiwan and Japan simultaneously on May 20, 2021. It is a co-production from Taiwan’s Vidol and KKTV with Japan’s SPO Entertainment, that’s why a lot of teasers and news about the series you can find online are in Japanese, which confused me at first, LOL… There are 4 songs announced for the OST, and the first MV, Promise 約定, will be released on the same day as the series premiere, so I will add it here when it is available. For the moment, here’s the trailer for the series… For those of you who are familiar with the HIStory series, one of the leads, Aaron Lai 賴東賢, was in HIStory: My Hero!

Tears on Fire (Taiwanese TV series OST) 電視劇《火神的眼淚》片頭片尾曲
Tears on Fire 火神的眼淚 is a new Taiwanese TV series which premiered on May 1, 2021. It is a 10-episode drama about the lives of firefighters. I’ve just listened to the opening theme song, Just Stay with Me 因為是你, sung by WeiBird 韋禮安 and I really like the song. The closing theme song, Still Around 繞, is sung by Maggie Chiang 江美琪, but only a 90-second teaser MV is available at the moment, but I will add it here when they release the full MV.
