Mr. Dior 迪奧先生 written by Lv Ye Qian He 綠野千鶴 is an extremely funny BL novel that I’m reading at the moment. It is set in the near future when mobile phone is obsolete and people are now implanted with a data chip in their brain that replaces the phone and can be controlled through a device they wear like a wristwatch. The only problem is that now everyone must be careful not to get their head bumped or hit as that could cause severe problem with the data chip and their brain wiring function.
As it is, the story in this BL started with a car pile-up and our ML has a bump in his head which causes his brain wiring and the data chip to malfunction. This resulted in some of his memory and the digital data to merge and made him believe that he’s a character from the digital books or other sources that have been downloaded and stored in the data chip. Now the thing is he’s also married and has been for 7 years with our MC and all these problems created an uproarious and farcical play-out of different scenarios between our two protagonists. I’m now up to about chapter 35 at the moment and I have been rolling with laughter all the way up to this point, so I’m highly recommending this novel to everyone.
Oh, another thing is the names of characters in this novel are all homophones in Chinese, so if you can read Chinese, please read the original Chinese text as they are also very funny especially our ML name when he’s in character, Mr. Dior which sounds like 屌 diao in Chinese referring to male’s private part, so basically he is Mr. Dick, LOL… And our MC name, 焦棲 Jiao Qi, sounds like 嬌妻 meaning tender/delicate wife…
