Yesterday I was browsing through Jinjiang Literature City looking for a new online novel to read for the holiday season, and also looking at the Top 200 BL novels on that site for new popular novels. Alas, I was quite dismayed to find that two of the top 3 novels I checked last time in August have disappeared from the list. I quickly did a search and realized that the two novels have been banned in China since just a couple of months ago, WHAT?! That means we can no longer read them on the official site. One of the novels was one of my favourite BL novels, Saye 撒野!
Although I was very disappointed to read that news, but at hindsight it was not that surprising since they have recently been cracking down on BL-related stuff as soon as they became too popular. Sigh!!!!!!!! So now I have very little hope of the TV series, Chasing the Light 左肩有你, which was adapted from Saye to ever see the light of day…
Anyway, I did find out that the author of Saye, Wu Zhe 巫哲, has a new novel currently being serialized called 三伏 (Sān Fú which means the three periods forming the hottest periods of summer, from mid-July to mid-August in the Northern Hemisphere), and it is another campus BL novel. I have a quick glance at the first chapter and huh? A rich kid, very different from her previous novels dealing mostly with either middle- or low-income families! Concurrently while doing the search, one of the results popping up was an official song written for another of her novels, Antidote 解藥. That led me to continue searching to see if there are more songs for the novel since I love the novel which I read last year, and found 5 songs in total, LOL… Two of the songs were written to commemorate the novel, one was written for the audio drama of Antidote, and two were for the donghua/anime of Antidote.
