Last week I came across this new reality singing show and really enjoyed the first 2 episodes, it is different from all the other reality singing shows in that it focuses on stage musicals. Musical theatres are still very new in China, Shanghai being the “city of musicals”, so this show is basically trying to attract viewers with the typical singing competition as well as to showcase musicals to the wider audiences. One of the judges is Ayanga 阿雲嘎 who is the face of musicals in China. Thank goodness this is a feel good competition with no nasty judges, but ones who give good useful feedbacks with encouragement!

Temporary Bodyguard 臨時保鏢 (Audio Drama OST) + Folding Napkin Bunny
I am reading a couple of new Chinese BL novels currently, one of course is the latest on-going 188 series, Alpha Predator 頂級掠食者 by Shui Qian Cheng 水千丞, and the other I’ve just finished reading is the newest novel San Fu 三伏 by Wu Zhe 巫哲. San Fu is another campus BL, and to be honest I really did not like the spoiled rich brat Jiang Kuo 江闊 in the beginning but luckily warmed to him by the end! The reason I started to read San Fu was because I found out that Jiang Cheng 蔣丞 from her other novel, Saye 撒野, would make an appearance as a lawyer in it, and happy to say Gu Fei 顧飛 also appeared briefly at the end!

The Cook Up with Adam Liaw 2 (2022)
After just a short break of 2 months, The Cook Up with Adam Liaw is back on screen with Season 2 starting on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 7pm on SBS Food. According to SBS, Season 1 of The Cook Up was the most successful food show commissioned by SBS to date and the new season will again be another massive season with 200 episodes .

Season 14 of Good Chef Bad Chef starts at 4pm on Monday, March 21, 2022 on Channel 10. This season Dr Preeya Alexander will take over the good chef role while Rosie Mansfield is back in the UK.

Random Ramblings on BL Novels – Unreciprocated Love 他們的通勤時間 by Lin Peiyu 林珮瑜
While we are still hoping her last novel Miracle would be made into a TV series, Taiwanese author and screenwriter Lin Peiyu 林珮瑜 has released a new BL novel Unreciprocated Love 他們的通勤時間 which went on sale on White Valentine’s Day, March 14, 2022. The Chinese title actually translated as Their Commute Time. It is about a secret crush in the workplace, hence I think why the official English title is Unreciprocated Love. Seeing they chose White Valentine’s Day to release the book, I hope it suggests a happy ending!

DNA Says Love You 基因決定我愛你 is a new Taiwanese BL series that will premiere on White Valentine’s Day, March 14, 2022. This new series is from the same producer who gave us the BL series a couple of years ago, Because of You 2020 2020因為愛你. They have announced 4 songs for the OST and so far only the opening theme song sung by the Taiwanese Youtubers/singers is available, I’ll add the other 3 songs when they are released.
