Last week I came across this new reality singing show and really enjoyed the first 2 episodes, it is different from all the other reality singing shows in that it focuses on stage musicals. Musical theatres are still very new in China, Shanghai being the “city of musicals”, so this show is basically trying to attract viewers with the typical singing competition as well as to showcase musicals to the wider audiences. One of the judges is Ayanga 阿雲嘎 who is the face of musicals in China. Thank goodness this is a feel good competition with no nasty judges, but ones who give good useful feedbacks with encouragement!

Update April 28, 2022: Oh dear, it seems this series has received very poor TV ratings and Ep 5 which was originally scheduled to be broadcast on April 16, 2022 has been delayed until further notice! It is such a shame as I was enjoying watching the series…
Update May 22, 2022: Finally Ep 5 was uploaded yesterday…. Just go to the playlist I linked to above to watch. Interesting to see the sponsor’s logo has been masked in this episode, has the sponsor dropped out due to poor ratings?

I watched episode 3 and the show is getting better and better. All the judge is encouraging and motivate the participants. So cool the show. But I like most is Ayunga introduction to all the performance as this help me to understand the plays better. Love this show but hope the judge can performance with the participants.
