After disastrous TV ratings following the 11th season of the show in 2020, My Kitchen Rules was cancelled, or “rested” by Network 7. But wait! After one year off-air in 2021, it is now back in 2022 with season 12 and a new international co-host, none other than Nigella Lawson! And that’s not all, former MasterChef Australia’s judge Matt Preston is also set to join the team after being a co-host on Channel 7’s ratings disappointment one season wonder, Plate of Origin, in 2020. Hmm, does this mean the rebooted MKR will gear towards a more feel-good vibe and just maybe concentrated more on food rather than all the dramas, on-screen or off-screen?
