Mee Kolo (Sunway Resort Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) – Kolo Mee 乾撈麵 is a street food hawker dish originally from Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. Traditionally the dry-tossed noodle is served with just a few slices of char siew with sprinkling of chopped spring onion and a small bowl of clear pork broth (a similar dish is Kampua Mee 乾拌麵 from Sibu, Sarawak), but it has now evolved into a more fancy dish with the higher standard of living, and becomes indistinguishable from other dry-tossed noodle dish by adding other toppings like wontons from Dry Wonton Mee 乾撈雲吞麵 and minced pork from Bak Chor Mee 肉燥麵. When I was growing up, we would have to order two dishes if we want the wontons, which we called either pián-si̍t 扁食 (in Hokkien dialect) or biēng-nṳ̆k 扁肉 (in Foochow dialect) together with the dry-tossed noodle.
