Snow in Midsummer 五月䨮 is a Malaysian historical film which premiered on September 4, 2023 at the 80th Venice International Film Festival as one of the films selected for the Giornate degli Autori International Competition.
The film is a Malaysian, Singaporean and Taiwanese co-production and it has just garnered 9 nominations at the 60th Golden Horse Awards 金馬獎 in Taiwan. It will have its Asian premiere in Taiwan on November 17, 2023, then its Southeast Asian premiere on December 7, 2023 at the 34th Singapore International Film Festival 新加坡國際電影節. Rumours are it may not be able to be shown in Malaysia due to the sensitive topic the film dealt with which is the 513 racial riots in 1969.
