Three Tears in Borneo 聽海湧 is a 5-episode Taiwanese World War II drama series which premiered on August 17, 2024 in Taiwan. It’s the first WWII drama series told from the point of view of Taiwanese. Although the drama about three young Taiwanese brothers who were recruited by the Japanese army to guard prisoners of war in a camp on the Island of Borneo during the Second World War is fictional, the background story about the prisoners of war is inspired by real event.
The 86 soundtrack music scores are composed by Belgian composer and pianist Thomas Foguenne and the soundtrack album will be available from September 1, 2024 but here is a preview. The closing theme song 望你早歸 (Wish You Come Back Soon) was originally released in 1946 sung by Chi Lu-Hsia 紀露霞 and being covered by Panai 巴奈 for the drama series but so far I can’t find the new version anywhere. Therefore I’ll just put the original version I found here…
