Desire The Series 垂涎 is a 16-episode Chinese BL series with ABO theme which will premiere on July 12, 2025. The series was teased more than a couple of years ago being the first ever ABO BL series… but since they took so long to make because I think when they announced it they haven’t even written (or just starting to write – in early 2023) the novel yet which the series was going to adapt from, LOL, that in the meantime there were other ABO-theme BL series already aired!
I have a bad feeling about this series being able to air smoothly to the end because they are going with the international branch of two streaming platforms owned by Chinese media companies! Therefore the chop could come down any moment if it becomes too popular on social media in China from Chinese netizens watching illegally through VPN or pirated videos. On top of that, the recent banning of the other BL series Revenged Love super topic on Weibo social media, although that series only streamed on Taiwanese and Japanese owned platforms, indicated that anything can happen…

Update July 27, 2025: Here it comes, I knew it… The series has been removed from WeTV, which is the overseas arm of Tencent platform in China. Actually I didn’t realize WeTV was also airing this series, I thought it was only the international branches of iQIYI and YOUKU platforms, so I will not be surprised if these two platforms are forced to remove the series in the future!
Update July 29, 2025: Things are happening! Both the YouTube channels associated with this series, DurianCulture (the current production house official channel – spelt as one word) and ABO Desire (official channel) have disappeared! The old Durian Culture channel with the teaser from two years ago is still there though? This is odd since YouTube is banned in China, so why closed down, pressure from you know who? Both those two channels have been dropping BTS stills daily but now no more…
Update July 30, 2025: More development! Saw this coming from the start, not surprising at all, the series has now been removed from the international branches of iQIYI and YOUKU also. Now only the platforms not owned by Chinese media companies are still able to air the series. They are also trying to bring back their YouTube channels…
