Islanders 親密之海 is a 7-episode Taiwanese drama series with LGBTQ+ theme which premiered with its first two episodes during the 2025 Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival 金馬奇幻影展 on April 13, 2025 in Taiwan. It started its proper airing domestically in Taiwan and internationally from July 18, 2025. The series is adapted from the award winning novel Islands 群島 by Lolita Hu 胡晴舫.
Successful CEO Li Xian-hong juggles relationships with multiple women—his wife Yaru, longtime mistress Xiao-wen, and the much younger Lilian, whose fluid views on love challenge him. When a dinner dispute goes viral, Xian-hong’s downfall and resurgence turn him into a controversial figure. His assistant Han-rong, once devoted, grows disillusioned and seeks a fresh start. Through shifting relationships and social media’s gaze, the drama explores love across generations, the complexities of desire, and Taiwan’s evolving social landscape.
