The Cost of Loving is a 20-minute German short film with LGBTQ+ theme which was completed on March 30, 2025 and I believe is only available to watch through film festivals. I thought it is interesting to mention here because one of the script writers and stars of the drama is Paul Williams Donovan whom fans of vertical western BL dramas such as Desired by My Unknown Husband & Bodyguards by Day, Lovers by Night will be familiar with. Incidentally Paul has another upcoming Portuguese/French drama which is in post-production currently called A Árvore do Conhecimento (The Tree of Knowledge).
A couple’s daughter is abducted by a human trafficking organization, forcing Alex and Lukas to confront the harrowing truth that her adoption was based on forged documents.
