Last year, Taiwanese singer Eric Chou 周興哲 celebrated his 10th anniversary as a recording artist by releasing a new album, Almost 幾乎是愛情, and at the same time in October 2024, he started planning this music short film, Love Has Its Ways 愛，總有開始的地方, based on the title of 3 songs from the new album. Filming started on November 15, 2024 and finished in December 2024. The film premiered on April 17, 2025 at the Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival 金馬奇幻影展 in Taiwan. On Qixi Festival 七夕, or colloquially known as Chinese Valentine’s Day, which fell on August 29, 2025 this year, Love Has Its Ways 愛，總有開始的地方 was finally released in full on YouTube by M Star Entertainment Ltd. 星空飛騰國際娛樂股份有限公司 for international audience.
Working with director Gavin Lin 林孝謙 and screenwriter Hermes Lu 呂安弦, both of whom worked on the 2018 Taiwanese hit film More Than Blue 比悲傷更悲傷的故事, Eric created this short film interweaving 3 romantic stories together based on the title of 3 songs from that anniversary album, which are When You Missed Me 想念你想我, Valentine’s Day 永不結束的情人節 & We Never Started 我們沒開始.
