We, Best Love is a new series of BL dramas from Taiwan. The naming of this new series is quite similar to that of HIStory series… We stands for WeTV who created the series and is the broadcaster, while the initials of Best Love is BL which, well you guess it, LOL… The first season is called No. 1 For You 永遠的第一名 (a.k.a. 1000 Stars นิทานพันดาว (Thai TV Series OST Songs)
After more than a year, the airdate for the Thai BL series, 1000 Stars (a.k.a. A Tale of Thousand Stars 千星記／千星傳說), has finally been announced. It will premiere on January 29, 2021. The song, Longer than Ever, was used as the BGM song for the mock trailer in 2019, so now I’m not sure if it is still the main theme song for the TV series because in the official new trailer just released yesterday, the BGM is a different song. If or until the new official theme song is released, here’s the MV for Longer than Ever which I really like and has been listening to it since last year…

The Years of Intoxication (Audio Drama Theme Songs) 廣播劇《一醉經年》主題曲
Reading the 188 series of BL novels at the moment and they are a torture to read but also very addicting, LOL… You just want to punch one of the main protagonists on the nose in the first half of the novels! I have read 2 of these novels in a row the past couple of weeks, currently reading another one, The Years of Intoxication 一醉經年. In the latter part of this novel, Song Juhan 宋居寒 sang a song he wrote to He Gu 何故 and at the same time came out of the closet in the final performance of his concert and, boy, it was a touching moment especially the speech he gave after he sang the song! The song, Ai He Gu 愛何辜 (translated as Is It a Crime to Love?) is actually a play of words to 愛何故 (Loving He Gu). The song actually exists! It is from the audio drama of the novel. I have also included two other songs from the audio drama…

Fortunate (HBO Asia TV Series “Adventure of the Ring” Theme Song) 如果能幸福（電視喜劇《戒指流浪記》片尾曲） – Eric Chou 周興哲
New love song from Eric, it is the closing theme song to HBO Asia TV Series “Adventure of the Ring 戒指流浪記”. The TV series began airing in Taiwan on December 13, 2020 for a total of 8 episodes. So far no official MV for the song yet, only the audio version is released.

Random Ramblings on BL Novels – The 188 Series 188男團系列耽美小説
Currently I am in the midst of reading the 188 series of BL novels by Shui Qian Cheng 水千丞. The first time I came across this author was after watching the 2017 bromance TV series, Beloved Enemy 決對爭鋒 at the beginning of this year, later I started to read the BL novel the TV series was adapted from, 針鋒對決. Of course at the time I did not realise it was part of the 188 series, but I did notice that Yuan Yang 原煬 was really a badass in the novel compared to his watered down behaviour in the TV series.

Part 4 is getting too long, so I’m moving all the trailers for BL dramas scheduled for 2021 into this post.
Update June 30, 2021: There will be no more updates of trailers in this post for new BL dramas premiering in the second half of 2021 because there are just too many BL series that I have trouble keeping up with. Instead I may do new posts occasionally for teasers or trailers of shows from July, 2021 onwards that look interesting.

The Light in the Night (Audio Drama Theme Songs) 廣播劇《默讀》主題曲
A few days ago, news came through that another Chinese BL novel by Priest (the same author who wrote “Guardian 鎮魂“) is being made into a 35-episode TV series, Light the Darkness (tentative English title), for 2021. The novel is Modu 默讀, and has been translated into English as The Light in the Night (original Chinese novel published from June 2016 until January 2017), but expect the TV series to be bromance and not BL since it is being made in China. Shooting of the series is scheduled to begin in February, 2021.

Hikaru no Go (2020 Chinese TV Theme Songs) 真人版網絡劇《棋魂》主題曲片尾曲插曲
Hikaru no Go is a new Chinese TV series that premiered on October 27, 2020 and just finished its run of 36 episodes on November 26, 2020. It is a story based on the Japanese manga series from 1999-2003 centred around the Chinese board game Go 圍棋. It has a Douban television ratings of 8.4 (76,864 votes at the time of writing of this post) currently, so I decided to watch the series yesterday. Episode 1 has already got me hooked, so that’s a good sign for me to continue watching the rest of the series. By the way Hikaru no Go ヒカルの碁 was also made into an anime series in Japan in 2001 and that original series has a Douban television ratings of 9.2 (47,358 votes as of the writing of this post). The theme songs to the new series are embedded below, but most are just lyrics version…
