The Taiwanese VBL series – Stay By My Side 免疫屏蔽, You Are Mine 絕對佔領, VIP Only 保留席位, and Anti Reset 恆久定律 – have filmed a 20-minute extra episode for each of the 4 series. These extra episodes were produced through crowdfunding since January 18, 2024 through to April 30, 2024 and from all reports, the goal of the crowdfunding was reached after just one day and the filming went ahead smoothly. They have now released the teasers for each of the 4 extra episodes but no date has been announced for when they will be shown. However the promotional theme song for the extra episodes have been released…

The Apothecary Diaries 薬屋のひとりごと (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) is a 24-episode (?) Japanese anime series that premiered on the early hours of October 22, 2023 in Japan with the first 3 episodes dropped at the same time. It is based on the Japanese novel series of the same name written by Hyūga Natsu 日向夏.
I’ve watched the first few episodes and they are quite enjoyable to watch. Since the novel series is aimed at young adults, the plots are not complicated and the mysteries are quite straight forward basically dealing with poisons since the protagonist is a young medicine “apprentice” who likes to experiment. That said, the stories do sort of remind me of Agatha Christie’s novels, LOL…
