Starlight BnB 光開門就很忙了 is a new 13-episode Taiwanese celebrity reality show that premiered on June 25, 2023. This is the second season of the reality show which is a spin-off of the 2021 drama series Light the Night 花燈初上 featuring cast members from the drama series. In this second season of the reality series, the celebrities are tasked to run a pet-friendly boutique hostel.
Stay by My Side 免疫屏蔽 is a new 10-episode Taiwanese BL series which premiered on July 7, 2023. This will be the first of a tetralogy of Vidol BL (VBL) series this year from Taiwan’s Vidol streaming platform (under Taiwan’s Sanlih E-Television 三立電視) to celebrate its 7th anniversary, hence that explains the date of the premiere!
Season 2 of Minato Shōji Coin Laundry みなと商事コインランドリー is a new 12-episode Japanese BL series sequel which premiered on the early hours of July 6, 2023 in Japan.

In the last couple of years, there have been a dramatic increase of BL series being made. Just 3 years ago, only countries like Japan, Thailand and Taiwan were producing BL drama series regularly but also not excessively. Now countries like South Korea, Philippines and Vietnam are also pumping out BL series like there’s no tomorrow, with an increasing number of other countries joining the race to produce this genre!

Sasaki and Miyano 佐々木と宮野 is a Japanese BL TV anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Harusono Shō 春園ショウ that aired from January 10, 2022 to March 28, 2022 in Japan. The follow up is the anime movie Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation 「佐々木と宮野ー卒業編ー」 that premiered on February 17, 2023 in Japan. The film was released as a double feature with the short film Hirano and Kagiura 平野と鍵浦.
Tokyo in April is… ４月の東京は… is an 8-episode Japanese BL series which premiered on June 16, 2023. It is adapted from the manga series of the same name by Haru ハル.
Love Tractor 트랙터는 사랑을 싣고 is an 8-episode Korean BL series that premiered on June 7, 2023. It is adapted from the webtoon of the same name written by Hmm Yong Yong 흠념뇸 and illustrated by AngryMonster 앵몬. Three songs have been released from the OST.
Be My Favorite บทกวีของปีแสง is a 12-episode Thai BL series that premiered on May 26, 2023. The Thai title means The Poetry of Lightyears. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by JittiRain.

(more…)Womxnly 玫瑰少年 is a song sung by Jolin Tsai 蔡依林 from her album Ugly Beauty released in December 2018. It won the category of Song of the Year at the 30th Golden Melody Award 金曲獎 in 2019. This week Jolin sang this song on Japan’s The First Take and she also became the second Taiwanese singer to be invited to sing on this Japanese YouTube channel. The spelling of the English title with the x is to emphasize gender equality (see link to the story behind the song below).
