If I remember correctly, this is the first VBL series to be adapted from a novel, all the previous VBL series were from original scripts I think. Correct me if I’m wrong 🙂

(more…)Revenged Love 逆愛 is a 24-episode Chinese BL series that premiered on June 16, 2025, of course for international releases only outside China. It is a remake of the 8-episode Chinese series from 2015, Counter Attack: Falling in Love with a Rival 逆襲之愛上情敵. Both series are adapted from the classic BL novel Counter Attack 逆襲 by Chai Ji Dan 柴雞蛋 who is best known for her other acclaimed BL novel Are You Addicted? 你丫上瘾了 which has been adapted into a few Chinese and Thai versions of web drama in recent years.
Before you continue reading, there are very frightening happenings in China right now regarding danmei (BL) writers. The news about the arrest of danmei writers has been percolating since the end of last year, but it seems it is now spreading across China, very sad… Very hypocritical to target the individuals while letting the international branch of their big corporate media companies to broadcast BL dramas outside China… Well, you know what because they make money, while the helpless individuals who write those stories are being jailed…

(more…)Well, I thought it will be a drama-free weekend because my favourite weekend mystery anime, The Apothecary Diaries, is on hiatus this week right at the point, grrrrrrr, where it is reaching its season 2 climatic end with just two more episodes remaining. Then what do you know, suddenly two western BL shorts decided to premiere this week without warnings, LOL… The other one, My Rookie Secret Agent Lover, is actually a re-release after its sudden disappearance last month. This new one, A Breath Away, a.k.a. A Breath Away From My Unmet Husband, also dropped suddenly around June 19, 2025 on a couple of apps, kalosTV/DramaSnaps and also on MiniShorts.

(more…)Moon and Dust 壞狗 (Chinese title means Bad Dog) is a 6-episode (about 15 minutes or less per episode) Chinese BL series which premiered on May 23, 2025 on PPeach app and YouTube. It is the same app that made Uncle Unknown 叔不知 (12×7-minute series, I didn’t make a post for it since there’s no OST) last year. I thought they were not going to release the OST for this one, but surprisingly they have released two out of three songs on the OST since a couple of weeks ago…
