The Campus Folk Music Movement is a cultural phenomenon in Taiwan that began in the mid 1970s and lasted to the late 1980s and the early 1990s. It became a very popular music genre, not only in Taiwan, but spread to South East Asia as well. This year, Taiwan is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the campus folk music and there are concerts being held across the country to honour the lasting impact of those songs.

Love Has Its Ways 愛，總有開始的地方 (Taiwanese Short Film OST)
Last year, Taiwanese singer Eric Chou 周興哲 celebrated his 10th anniversary as a recording artist by releasing a new album, Almost 幾乎是愛情, and at the same time in October 2024, he started planning this music short film, Love Has Its Ways 愛，總有開始的地方, based on the title of 3 songs from the new album. Filming started on November 15, 2024 and finished in December 2024. The film premiered on April 17, 2025 at the Golden Horse Fantastic Film Festival 金馬奇幻影展 in Taiwan. On Qixi Festival 七夕, or colloquially known as Chinese Valentine’s Day, which fell on August 29, 2025 this year, Love Has Its Ways 愛，總有開始的地方 was finally released in full on YouTube by M Star Entertainment Ltd. 星空飛騰國際娛樂股份有限公司 for international audience.

Hellfire Chef: You Are My Final Taste (British Vertical Series)
Hellfire Chef: You Are My Final Taste is a 60-episode British vertical series which dropped on August 10, 2025 on the ShortMax app. Well, what can I say about this, it is MasterChef gone bonkers, LOL… So far with the western BL vertical series, we are still stuck on mafia, CEO types of plots, but with the BG vertical series, we are getting a wider variety of stories. Recently there are a lot of stories based on janitors, and now we are getting two series centred on chefs just this month… I will introduce the other one in my next post.

Marching Boys 進行曲 (Taiwanese Movie OST)
Marching Boys 進行曲 is a Taiwanese film that premiered as the closing film for the 27th Taipei Film Festival 台北電影節 on June 29, 2025. It had its advance screening on August 26, 2025 with the cast, and just released across theatres in Taiwan on August 29, 2025. The film is an inspiring story of a group of high school students who come together to fight to save their school’s marching band and chase their dreams.

Kill to Love 紫陌紅塵 is a 12-episode Chinese BL series that premiered on August 25, 2025. It is adapted from the 2008 webnovel The Eternal Silence of Mountains and Rivers (Lǐ Yù Doujin) 山河永寂（李煜同人） by Yī Hán Hē 一寒呵. The novel itself is a retelling of the life of Lǐ Yù 李煜 (937–978), a Chinese poet and the last ruler of the Southern Tang dynasty from 961 to 976.

My Bias Is Showing?! 최애가 나타났다! (Korean Series OST)
My Bias Is Showing?! 최애가 나타났다! is an upcoming 10-episode Korean BL series which will start airing from August 28, 2025 internationally. However it premiered with the first 3 episodes during a special screening on August 21, 2025 in Korea. It is adapted from the webtoon of the same name written by Nabit 나빛 and illustrated by Eol 얼. Not sure if there is going to be an OST or if they are going to release it, so we will have to wait and see. If the OST is available, I will do a separate OST post for this series…
