Mudborn 泥娃娃 is an upcoming Taiwanese horror film which will be released on October 9, 2025 in Taiwan. It is inspired by the Taiwanese nursery rhyme The Clay Doll 泥娃娃. However an adapted version of the nursery rhyme which has been branded as Taiwan’s weirdest children’s song has already created an uproar from movie goers with cinema complex playing this horror version of the song as promotion and scaring the hell out of movie goers and the song has to be taken down…

Would You Like a Cup of Coffee? 歡迎光臨 二代咖啡 is a 13-episode Taiwanese drama series that premiered as a special movie edition at the 24th Taipei Film Festival 台北電影節 on July 3, 2022. It took nearly three years but finally it has started airing in Taiwan as a series from March 16, 2025. The series is adapted from the Korean manhwa Would You Like a Cup of Coffee? 커피 한잔 할까요? by Huh Young-Man 허영만 and Lee Ho-Joon 이호준 with illustration by Huh Young-Man 허영만. In 2021, there was also a 12-episode live-action Korean adaptation, Would You Like a Cup of Coffee? 커피 한잔 할까요?

These are the Top 100 most streamed Mandopop and Taiwanese songs of 2024 in Taiwan according to Taiwanese KKBox streaming platform. These are songs released onto the KKBox platform for streaming from December 2023 to December 2024, but the number of streams are calculated from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. Keep in mind that since the calculation is based on accumulation of plays, songs released earlier in the year were streamed for more months than songs released at the end of the year. The year and month date shown below the title of each song is the month the particular song was released onto KKBox.

New song from Della 丁噹, a duet with Taiwanese singer/songwriter newcomer Chen Hua 陳華, who has one of the biggest hits last year with Sunset in May 想和你看五月的晚霞. This new song is composed by Ricky Hsiao 蕭煌奇. The lyrics is co-written by Chen Hua with another lyricist Huang Ting 黃婷 and the title of this new song is inspired by a verse from Sunset in May – 致遠道而來的浪漫 以及你 all about you.

Women in Taipei 台北女子圖鑑 is a new 11-episode Taiwanese drama series that premiered on September 21, 2022. It is adapted from the Japanese TV series Tokyo Girl 東京女子図鑑 (Tôkyô Joshi Zukan) that aired in 2016 – 2017, which in terms was based on the yonkoma manga of the same name serialized in the Japanese magazine Tokyo Calendar 東京カレンダー. There are 10 songs from the OST consisting of mostly new songs with a few old classics.

Say Yes Again 再說一次我願意 (Taiwanese Movie OST)
Say Yes Again 再說一次我願意 is a new Taiwanese movie that will premiere on January 19, 2022. The basic plotline of the movie is a Groundhog-Day of marriage proposal, LOL… The first song from the OST was released way back on August 14, 2021 on the day of the Chinese Valentine’s Day (七夕節 which occurs every year on the 7th day of the 7th month on the Chinese lunar calendar). I also found 2 official posters for the movie, and interestingly the first one has a date of September 3 on it which I guess might have been the original release date for the movie (?), but was delayed after the poster was released, now the movie will officially be released early next year!

Foolish Heart 太傻 – Della 丁噹
This is a new cover of a hit Mandopop song from the 1990s by Della 丁噹. The song was composed by Malaysian singer Eric Moo 巫啟賢 in 1993 to give to his junior, Mindy Quah 柯以敏, another Malaysian singer for her first album. Eric covered the song the next year, 1994, and his version also became a classic and has been a favourite of mine ever since. I have included all 3 versions below.

You Are My Destiny (2020 WebTV Theme Songs) 網絡劇《你是我的命中註定》片頭曲片尾曲
Earlier today, the new music video by Taiwanese singer, TingTing (廷廷 a.k.a. 蕭秉治) was dropped onto YouTube, a very fun video and a very appealing song that I’ve been replaying a few times already. The song is Under the Moon from the new TV series, You Are My Destiny (你是我的命中註定), which is the 2020 mainland Chinese remake of the 2008 Taiwanese hit drama series Fated to Love You (命中注定我愛你). This popular Taiwanese drama series has also been remade by South Korean in 2014, Thai in 2017, and also Japanese in early 2020. Under the Moon is the opening theme song to this new Chinese remake TV series and the closing theme song, You are My Destiny, is sung by Della Ding 丁噹.
Update July 14, 2020: Added the official music video to Della’s closing theme song, You are My Destiny.
Update August 8, 2020: Added 3 other songs from the OST by Taiwanese singer/songwriter Ann 白安 which were originally released in 2019 from her 4th album, 44天 (44 Days).
