My Best Friend’s Breakfast 我吃了那男孩一整年的早餐 is an upcoming Taiwanese romantic movie premiering on January 28, 2022 for the Lunar New Year slot. It is based on a true story mentioned on Taiwanese social networking platform, Dcard 狄卡, in 2015 and then written into a novel in 2016 by novelist Ikumisa (尾巴Misa) which became very popular. This movie will be Taiwanese singer Eric Chou 周興哲’s first starring role in a film. Without any surprise, he will be in charge of the music for the movie.

More than Blue: the series 比悲傷更悲傷的故事 | 影集版 is a new 10-episode Taiwanese webdrama that premiered on October 22, 2021. The series is an adaptation of the 2018’s Taiwanese movie of the same name, which in turns was adapted from the 2009’s Korean movie of the same name, 슬픔보다 더 슬픈 이야기. The main theme song of the series is sung by A-Lin who also sang the title theme song from the 2018’s movie.
Season 3 of Our Song 我們的歌, or Singing with Legends, premiered on Spetember 19, 2021 and designated as the season of Young Forever 唱出青春樣. This year the legends or established singers include George Lam 林子祥, Chyi Chin 齊秦, Miriam Yeung 楊千嬅, Joker Xue 薛之謙, and Penny Tai 戴佩妮 (also lead singer of Buddha Jump 佛跳牆), and the new generation of singers include Calvin Hu Xia 胡夏, Eric Chou 周興哲, Sunnee 楊芸晴, Silence Wang 汪蘇瀧, Shan Yichun 單依純 and OST specialist Liu Yuning 劉宇寧. The rest are mainland Chinese singers I’ve never heard of, LOL…

(more…)My Love 你的婚禮 is a new Chinese romantic movie that premiered on April 30, 2021 in China. The movie is a remake of the 2018 South Korean’s movie On Your Wedding Day 너의 결혼식. According to news report, the movie opening day’s box office brought in over 100 million RMB (about 15 million USD), taking the top spot as the most watched movie for the May 1 weekend, which doubles the box office’s taking of the second place movie, Cliff Walkers 懸崖之上. The theme song is 不遺憾 (translated as No Regrets) sung by Li Ronghao 李榮浩 and I really like it, so here it is…
(more…)The second season of Taiwanese BL series We Best Love, named Fighting Mr. 2nd 第二名的逆襲, started airing on March 5, 2021, with the continuing story from season 1, No. 1 For You 永遠的第一名. The main theme songs are basically the same in both seasons. However the closing theme song for the second season which is also a sub-theme song in season 1, The Love Letter 唯一寫過的情書, has just been released today. For the opening theme song of season 2 (also used as the closing theme song of season 1), Hard to Let Go 分手放手, also sung by Alex Chou 周予天, please see my post for We Best Love No. 1 For You 永遠的第一名.

This is a duet with the up-and-coming young Chinese singer, Shan Yichun 單依純, who incidentally is participating in the second season of The Treasured Voice 天賜的聲音 currently. Just a quick note here that when 單 is used as surname, it should be pronounced as Shàn, NOT Dān. No official MV available yet, only an audio version of the song.

(more…)New love song from Eric, it is the closing theme song to HBO Asia TV Series “Adventure of the Ring 戒指流浪記”. The TV series began airing in Taiwan on December 13, 2020 for a total of 8 episodes. So far no official MV for the song yet, only the audio version is released.
