Season 4 of Singing with Legends 我們的歌 premiered on September 25, 2022. Interesting to hear the announcement at the beginning of the first episode that this TV format has been sold to a few European countries with the Spanish version Dúos Increíbles the first to start airing from September 29, 2022!

Singing with Legends (Our Song 2)《中國夢之聲～我們的歌》第二季
Season 2 of Chinese Idol – Our Song has been renamed as Singing with Legends and it started on October 11, 2020 with a total of 12 episodes and the finale episode to be aired on Boxing Day 2020. This season’s performers include Jeff Chang 張信哲, CoCo Lee 李玟, G.E.M. 鄧紫棋 and Zheng Yunlong 鄭雲龍. I will try to update some of my favourite performances here…

Fei YuChing & Ayanga Performances in [Our Song] 費玉清、阿雲嘎《我們的歌》合輯
With the sudden interest in a 37-year old Mandarin song by Fei YuChing recently, I thought I would share his farewell performances earlier this year, as the 65-year-old Taiwanese singer is hanging up his microphone and retiring from performing. This singing show, Our Song (我們的歌) is the latest incarnation of the Chinese Idol (中國夢之聲) series, and aired from October 27, 2019 to January 19, 2020. Our Song paired established, well-known older singers with the new generation of young singers as sort of mentoring-process competition. Fei YuChing was one of the mentors and his final 4 performances were paired with the young Mongolian singer, Ayanga, and they labeled themselves as the duo 雲淡風清 (using character from part of their names, translated as Light Cloud, Clear Wind).

SEA You Soon (Crossing the Ocean to See You) 飄洋過海來看你 – Fish Leong & Eve Ai 梁靜茹 & 艾怡良
This song popped up as a recommendation for me on YouTube a couple of days ago, a duet sang by Malaysia’s queen of love songs, Fish Leong (梁靜茹), and Taiwanese singer/songwriter Eve Ai (艾怡良). I thought the title sounded familiar, so I played it, and yes, I have heard the song years before and really like it, so it is a remake. Then the heartfelt music video made my eyes tear up…
