In the past year or so, more and more YouTube BL series have sprung up… They are usually short series of about 10 minutes, or less, per episode per week, and I am not talking about vertical series which at least drop all their episodes in one go! They are also mostly low budget series of less than 10 episodes per series, following the traditional Korean BL strategy of releasing just one episode of about 10 or 15 minutes per week, but of course there are exceptions. It has now become almost impossible to keep track of these new short series as they are released, so I have decided to just note two of the recent series from two new channels, and also keep a list of the other YouTube channels that have been releasing BL series from the past year or so. I haven’t watched it yet but from the synopsis, it is very similar to Fake It Till You Date It which was just released earlier this month! Random Ramblings on BL Dramas – Waterboy
Fans of vertical BL drama Poolboy from earlier this year will be pleased to see that the two lead actors from that series are reunited for another new vertical western BL drama! The 70-episode Waterboy has quite a similar BL story that dropped on December 27, 2025 on ReelShort. Once again, it is another one of the nerdy boy being forced to wear ridiculous skimpy “uniform” in order to serve as a “slave” to the jock of the school… It stars Sky Kawai as Donovan Miller and Declan Clifford as Kaden Russell, and you will recognize another familiar face, Sean McHugh, who also played the dad character in both series of My Secret Agent Husband…

More western vertical BL series keeps dropping for the holiday binging! No, Your Majesty is an 81-episode English-language Ukrainian BL series which dropped on December 19, 2025 on MyDrama. This is the app that had the debacle over the clickbait vertical BL series Wicked Game earlier this year! Although they remedied it by re-filming Wicked Game as a full series and launching it by September this year, that app still left a sour taste in my mouth, LOL… That said, both of these series are from Ukraine and their accents are pretty thick, I kept having to look at the subtitles to be sure what they are saying. Also another new Ukrainian vertical BL series starring the two actors from the reboot Wicked Game is scheduled to drop tomorrow on Boxing Day…

The Prince’s First Love is a new western vertical BL series that will drop on December 14, 2025 on ReelShort. It is interesting to note that vertical apps like ReelShort, GoodShort, and KalosTV are now the apps to go to for western vertical BL series. DramaBox who started off the trend with one of the first western vertical BL series has not had any new western BL series for a while now, and they have even deleted the Boy’s Love category from their site just a few months ago!
