My Secret Agent Husband is an American minute-episode BL series streaming on DramaBox that was released on June 27, 2024. It has 57 episodes of about 1 minute per episode.
To be honest, I am not a fan of this type of series with just one or two minutes per episode. It destroys the flow of the drama due to all the mini cliff-hangers at the end of each minute of episode and then mini recaps at the beginning of each episode! It really baffled me why there is a market out there for this type of dramas? Also are viewers nowadays cannot concentrate for more than a minute when watching dramas?
Anyway here we have a new vertical BL series, or mobilephone series, as it is filmed to be watched on mobile phones in “portrait” or vertical format rather than in widescreen format. It is also touted as the first American vertical BL series, that is it’s actually tagged as BL and not just LGBTQ+. However it’s not the first English speaking BL series as there were already a New Zealand BL series and a Philippines/American co-produced BL series last year as far as I know… There may have been others that I’m not aware of…
I stumbled onto this series a couple of days ago on YouTube. It has the first 15 episodes combined into one episode (see the video below) and I watched it. Well it is not the best or even average BL series I’ve seen but it is hilarious as it is so cheesy with over acted scenes and also questionable acting skills from quite a few of the minor cast members, LOL… So judge it for yourself and if you enjoy the first 15 episodes, go support the rest of the episodes on DramaBox so they may have confidence to produce more and better English speaking BL series in the future…
