Red, White & Royal Blue is an American LGBTQ+ romantic comedy film which premiered at the BFI IMAX cinema in London on July 22, 2023, and is set to be streamed internationally from August 11, 2023. It is based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Casey McQuiston. The first song released from the OST, If I Loved You, is a cover of a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel.

After Sundown ดับแสงรวี (Dub-Sang-Rawee) is a Thai horror BL movie which was released in Thai theatres on July 20, 2023. It is based on the novel of the same name by CEO. The trailer looks good, giving me the Khun Chai To Sir, With Love vibe and also the horror bits reminded me of Reuan Rom Ngiw House of the Dark Shadows, LOL… Hopefully it gets an international release or be available on one of the streaming platforms for international viewers…

Womxnly 玫瑰少年 – Jolin Tsai 蔡依林
Womxnly 玫瑰少年 is a song sung by Jolin Tsai 蔡依林 from her album Ugly Beauty released in December 2018. It won the category of Song of the Year at the 30th Golden Melody Award 金曲獎 in 2019. This week Jolin sang this song on Japan’s The First Take and she also became the second Taiwanese singer to be invited to sing on this Japanese YouTube channel. The spelling of the English title with the x is to emphasize gender equality (see link to the story behind the song below).

Marry My Dead Body 關於我和鬼變成家人的那件事 (Taiwanese Movie OST)
Marry My Dead Body 關於我和鬼變成家人的那件事 is an upcoming Taiwanese supernatural black comedy movie that will have its general theatre release next year on February 10, 2023 in Taiwan. However it just has its premiere as the closing film during the 2022 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival 金馬國際影展 last month on November 17, 2022. It has a sort of LGBTQ+ theme as it is all about the rare Chinese tradition of a spirit marriage 冥婚, in the case of this movie between a man and a male ghost. The theme song has just been released and is sung by Jolin Tsai 蔡依林 and she co-composed the music for the song… And yes the official English title of the song is called “Untitled” although the Chinese title 親愛的對象 can be translated roughly as “My Dear Other-Half” because there’s no equivalence for 對象 in English that I can think of… it means a person of target for or to do something or in relationship term a person that could become a future boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife… From what I’ve read, the MV is a prequel to the movie depicting the ghost when he was alive…

Young Royals 2 (Swedish Series OST)
Young Royals Season 2 premiered on November 1, 2022. Again with just 6 episodes so it is quite easy to binge watched. I already watched the whole season last week and thankfully the end is not as much of a cliff hanger as the end of season 1 so the wait for season 3 is not as painful since it will probably be another year before we get to watch the next season… As with the first season, there are many songs used in the series but I will just embed 3 songs that are more significant here…

To Sir, With Love คุณชาย (Khun Chai) is a new 10-episode (??? updated to 17 episodes?) Thai-style soap opera (lakorn) which will premiere on October 3, 2022. It is a lakorn with LGBTQ+ theme but not necessarily a proper BL series as I think it will be more a soap-opera-type drama with an ensemble cast like last year’s House of the Dark Shadows.
