At the moment, both songs are available in audio format only… However the MV for the closing theme song, Be My Baby, will premiere in 4 days time…

Just 3 years ago, only countries like Japan, Thailand and Taiwan were producing BL drama series regularly but also not excessively. Now countries like South Korea, Philippines and Vietnam are also pumping out BL series like there’s no tomorrow, with an increasing number of other countries joining the race to produce this genre!

Sasaki and Miyano 佐々木と宮野 is a Japanese BL TV anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Harusono Shō 春園ショウ that aired from January 10, 2022 to March 28, 2022 in Japan. The follow up is the anime movie Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation 「佐々木と宮野ー卒業編ー」 that premiered on February 17, 2023 in Japan. The film was released as a double feature with the short film Hirano and Kagiura 平野と鍵浦.
Tokyo in April is… ４月の東京は… is an 8-episode Japanese BL series which premiered on June 16, 2023. It is adapted from the manga series of the same name by Haru ハル.
Love Tractor 트랙터는 사랑을 싣고 is an 8-episode Korean BL series that premiered on June 7, 2023. It is adapted from the webtoon of the same name written by Hmm Yong Yong 흠념뇸 and illustrated by AngryMonster 앵몬. Three songs have been released from the OST.
Be My Favorite บทกวีของปีแสง is a 12-episode Thai BL series that premiered on May 26, 2023. The Thai title means The Poetry of Lightyears. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by JittiRain.

(more…)I’m currently immensed in the ancient Mouse-Cat series of BL novels by Er Ya 耳雅. For those of you not familiar with the Mouse-Cat 鼠貓 characters in Chinese literature, they are a couple of Chinese knights-errant during the Song Dynasty told in the classic 1879 Chinese martial arts novel, The Three Heroes and Five Gallants 三俠五義 (later republished in 1889 as The Seven Heroes and Five Gallants 七俠五義). The two characters, mouse and cat are the nicknames given to Bai Yutang 白玉堂 who is the youngest of the five gallants known as the Sleek Rat 錦毛鼠, and Zhan Zhao 展昭 who is one of the heroes, the Southern Hero 南俠, also known as the Imperial Cat 御貓. These ancient mouse-cat BL novel series are the ancient equivalence to the modern mouse-cat in the S.C.I. Mystery Series by the same author, Er Ya 耳雅, with nearly all the same characters (not surprising since they are all characters adapted from the 1879 novel but with the addition of BL elements) but here set in ancient time during the 11th-century Song Dynasty.
