Love and crime both unfold at the scene.
At the Yamanomichi Police Station in a certain rural town, 38-year-old Chief Detective Takoi Heisuke (Watanabe Shu 渡部秀) is a kind-hearted, compassionate detective beloved by the local residents. On the other hand, 28-year-old Shiono Shu (Saito Ryu 齋藤璃佑) , an elite police officer working in the Community Safety Division, is Takoi’s nemesis, constantly making sarcastic remarks.
The two, who live next door to each other in the bachelor dormitory, are sworn enemies in their private lives as well. However, behind Shiono’s cold attitude lies a hidden feeling for Takoi… Shiono, who was already annoyed by Takoi’s “people-pleasing” behaviour of being kind to everyone, becomes even more irritated when Takoi is presented with a marriage proposal involving a woman in her twenties.
One day, when Shiono and Takoi are alone in the interrogation room, Shiono makes a move on him. When Takoi angrily asks, “Why are you picking a fight with me?”, Shiono coldly provokes him, “Why do you think?” And then a major incident occurs…
