When It Rains, It Pours 2: Mellow Rain ふったらどしゃぶり メロウレイン is a 10-episode Japanese BL sequel which will premiere on November 5, 2026 in Japan. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Ichiho Michi 一穂ミチ.
Hagiwara Kazuaki (Muto Jun), who works in the sales department of an electronics manufacturer, and his colleague Nakarai Sei (Ito Asahi) , who works in the general affairs department, become close after a misdirected email is sent to the wrong person. They eventually experience the pain of breaking up with their respective partners and reaffirm their love for each other.
Four months later, Kazuaki returns to headquarters after his assignment in Osaka, and the two are reunited. During that time, Sei had moved into a 37-year-old apartment and started living alone. Kazuaki immediately visits Sei’s new home, but since they hadn’t seen each other for four months, the two are initially somewhat awkward… “You said you weren’t going anywhere,” Sei worries, wondering if Kazuaki’s feelings have changed during these four months. Through casual conversation and physical contact, the distance between them gradually shrinks. But Kazuaki wants to confirm Sei’s true feelings… And then, a torrential downpour rekindles the passion between them once again.
