(more…)This is one of the top 10 entries to compete for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics’ official theme song announced last week. Ayanga’s voice is so suited to this type of song…
(more…)I am currently about halfway through watching this TV series from 2018, so far it has been quite enjoyable but there are some lazy plotlines that are really frustrating to watch, LOL… However the soundtrack is very good, so I’m sharing them here.

Truth is stranger than fiction! This 37-year-old Mandarin song from 1983 is sweeping across northern Europe and Down Under recently, making it into the Spotify Viral Top 10 in Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and The Netherlands, even taking the No. 1 spot in late June in some countries, now it is also charting in Denmark, Finland and Switzerland. What’s going on?
(more…)Last week, we were told the lockdown was back in place for at least another 6 weeks here, and now MasterChef Australia is in its final week, it is time to look for more TV series to binge. After watching too many Thai university themed BL dramas the past few months, I recently watched the short Japanese BL drama, Life~Love on the Line, which came as a breath of fresh air! So I thought I would now look for more diverse BL dramas to watch with more substantial storylines. OK, I am lying a bit here, this post is more about not-quite-BL TV series that were adapted from BL novels, hehe…
(more…)This is the theme song to a new web series, 百里挑一 (translated as ‘Pick One from a Hundred’, or with the wordplay, ‘Baili Chooses Yi’), which is the new comedy TV series from the author/scriptwriter of the 2016 BL series, Addicted (上癮), Chaijidan (柴雞蛋). I have only seen a couple of episodes so far, and sadly it is not that captivating or funny. But I really like the song, so here it is…
(more…)Earlier today, the new music video by Taiwanese singer, TingTing (廷廷 a.k.a. 蕭秉治) was dropped onto YouTube, a very fun video and a very appealing song that I’ve been replaying a few times already. The song is Under the Moon from the new TV series, You Are My Destiny (你是我的命中註定), which is the 2020 mainland Chinese remake of the 2008 Taiwanese hit drama series Fated to Love You (命中注定我愛你). This popular Taiwanese drama series has also been remade by South Korean in 2014, Thai in 2017, and also Japanese in early 2020. Under the Moon is the opening theme song to this new Chinese remake TV series and the closing theme song, You are My Destiny, is sung by Della Ding 丁噹.
Update July 14, 2020: Added the official music video to Della’s closing theme song, You are My Destiny.
Update August 8, 2020: Added 3 other songs from the OST by Taiwanese singer/songwriter Ann 白安 which were originally released in 2019 from her 4th album, 44天 (44 Days).
(more…)This 2017 song by Malaysian singer, Michael Wong (光良), is now used as the opening theme song for the new 10-episode Chinese BL web series Love Trap (冰糖陷阱), also titled as Capture Lover in some streaming apps. Let’s hope the web series does not end up like the 2016 Chinese BL drama Addicted (上癮) which was banned! So far the drama looks like being made on a very low budget, but enough said, the opening and closing theme songs are good though, so here they are…
(more…)In the past couple of years, something called Jiggly Cake has been making the rounds on social media. Actually it is not something new, someone has just come up with a catchy English name for the traditional sponge cake from Taiwan which in Chinese is 古早味蛋糕, meaning traditional flavoured cake. It is also known as Pillow Cake (枕頭蛋糕) because it is soft and fluffy! Now you might think that was it, but it has a history linking back to Japan and Portugal, because this cake is also known as Taiwanese Castella Cake.
