Last year, I posted a list of the all-time most popular Chinese BL novels published at Jinjiang Literature City 晉江文學城. The top novels in that list will stay quite stable without too much changes as long as their accumulated points remain high, or some new popular novels pushed them down the list; the only thing that will make them drop out of the list completely without warning is the banning of the novels! That was exactly what happened a couple of months later after I posted that list, the number 1 and number 3 novels respectively, 天官賜福 and 撒野, were banned and disappeared from the list, so if you go to check the current list now, those two novels are nowhere to be seen.

BL Metamorphosis メタモルフォーゼの縁側 (Japanese Movie OST) + Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai 君のことだけ見ていたい
BL Metamorphosis メタモルフォーゼの縁側 (Metamorufōze no Engawa or translated literally as The Edge of Metamorphosis) is the live-action film adaptation of the award-winning same name manga series by Tsurutani Kaori 鶴谷香央理 that premiered in Japan on June 17, 2022. It is a story about the odd friendship that formed between a 75-year-old widow and a shy 17-year-old high school student through their love of reading BL manga. Interestingly a 4-episode BL series also premiered on the same day on Hulu Japan called I Just Want to See You 君のことだけ見ていたい (Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai) which is based on the manga story within the BL Metamorphosis live-action film! There doesn’t seem to be an OST for the series I Just Want to See You 君のことだけ見ていたい, so I am just mentioning it here as I won’t be doing an individual post for it.

Minato Syouji Coin Laundry みなと商事コインランドリー is a new 12-episode Japanese BL series that will officially premiere on the night of July 6, 2022 (or more accurately in the early hours of July 7, 2022) on terrestrial TV in Japan. However it will be exclusively pre-distributed tonight, June 29, 2022, at 9pm on Japan’s online video service, Paravi. This new series is based on the manga of the same name by Tsubaki Yuzu 椿ゆず. Senpai, This Can’t be Love! 先輩、断じて恋では！ (Senpai, Danjite Koidewa!) is a new 8-episode Japanese BL series that premiered on June 16, 2022. It is based on the manga of the same name by Harekawa Shinta 晴川シンタ. There are two songs from the OST, and so far only the closing theme song has been released. Incidentally the opening theme song, which is yet to be released, is sung by two Japanese VTubers (Virtual YouTubers) from ROF-MAO!
