LOL, some titles of vertical series are just so laughable… I remember there’s one series called Wrong Sperm, Right Love from last year, and now this new one with another ridiculous title… I Swallowed My Ex’s Mafia Daddy Whole is a 44-episode AI animated vertical BL series that dropped on April 26, 2026 on NetShort. How can you not be curious with a title like that, haha…
Although all these new AI dramas still have consistency problems, they at least are moving away from the typical recycled storylines of most vertical dramas using real actors. They can tell stories that most verticals cannot do due to budgeting or time constraint. For example the other AI drama I’ve watched, OMG! My Snow White is a Man, which is not only very funny but normal real-life drama would not be able to create the fairytale book paper elf in real life nor the rainbow coloured horse, only animation is able to do them. As far as I know, most vertical series are filmed within a week or so, therefore more elaborate plotlines are impossible to accomplish, but AI animation can. So whatever we may think of AI dramas, they at least give us more diverse storylines which I’m glad to see.
