Ordinary Love 普通の恋愛 is an 8-episode Japanese BL series which will premiere on the early hours of July 3, 2026 in Japan. It is adapted from the web manga series of the same name by Ziki Masaya 直正也.
Fumihara Ichiro, 36, and Higashi Kei, 24, are boss and subordinate, but they are secretly dating. The two became friends after a chance encounter at a movie theater, finding they shared similar interests. One day, at a bar on the way home from watching a movie about homosexuality, Ichiro, emboldened by alcohol, confesses that he is gay. Ichiro was prepared to be rejected, but Kei accepts his feelings without hesitation, and the two begin dating.
However, even now, almost a year into their relationship, the two have never even kissed. Ichiro didn’t want to pressure Kei, who was dating a man for the first time. “Why would he date me, someone 12 years older and of the same sex?” “Does he really love me as his lover?” Ichiro wonders to himself. Encouraged by Sachiko, the owner of his favorite bar, Ichiro finally decides to find out Kei’s true feelings on their one-year anniversary…
