The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 | 薬屋のひとりごと 第３期 is a 24-episode, divided into 2 cours, Japanese anime series which will premiere on October 2, 2026 in Japan. It is adapted from the light novel of the same name by Hyūga Natsu 日向夏. If it follows the previous two seasons of the series, Season 3 will cover the story from Volumes 5 and 6 of the light novel… Not only are we getting Season 3 of the series this year, the series’ first theatrical film will also be released in Japan on December 11, 2026, featuring a completely new story, not from the light novel, conceived by the author, Hyūga Natsu.
With the aftermath of the rebellion instigated by the Shi clan finally settled, Maomao has returned to her daily life as an apothecary in the pleasure district. One day, a breakfast served at the Verdigris House triggers a sense of unease in Maomao, prompting her to investigate the source of this unsettling feeling. Meanwhile, Jinshi, having revealed his true identity as the Emperor’s younger brother and begun to shoulder the associated responsibilities, finds himself troubled by a final warning entrusted to him from Loulan: a prophecy of a disaster that threatens to strike the nation. To make matters worse, rumours of a mysterious celestial maiden who bewitches the populace begin to spread, casting a new shadow over the Li Empire. The story expands from the Inner Palace to the common streets and even to a neighbouring land, as new trials await both Maomao and Jinshi.
