I am currently about halfway through watching this TV series from 2018, so far it has been quite enjoyable but there are some lazy plotlines that are really frustrating to watch, LOL… However the soundtrack is very good, so I’m sharing them here.

Random Ramblings on BL Dramas (Part 2)
Last week, we were told the lockdown was back in place for at least another 6 weeks here, and now MasterChef Australia is in its final week, it is time to look for more TV series to binge. After watching too many Thai university themed BL dramas the past few months, I recently watched the short Japanese BL drama, Life～Love on the Line, which came as a breath of fresh air! So I thought I would now look for more diverse BL dramas to watch with more substantial storylines. OK, I am lying a bit here, this post is more about not-quite-BL TV series that were adapted from BL novels, hehe…

Love 喜歡 (網絡劇《百里挑一》主題曲) – Ray Liu 劉子瑞
This is the theme song to a new web series, 百里挑一 (translated as ‘Pick One from a Hundred’, or with the wordplay, ‘Baili Chooses Yi’), which is the new comedy TV series from the author/scriptwriter of the 2016 BL series, Addicted (上癮), Chaijidan (柴雞蛋). I have only seen a couple of episodes so far, and sadly it is not that captivating or funny. But I really like the song, so here it is…

Weather Maker 造天氣的人 (網絡劇《冰糖陷阱》片頭曲) – Michael Wong 光良
This 2017 song by Malaysian singer, Michael Wong (光良), is now used as the opening theme song for the new 10-episode Chinese BL web series Love Trap (冰糖陷阱), also titled as Capture Lover in some streaming apps. Let’s hope the web series does not end up like the 2016 Chinese BL drama Addicted (上癮) which was banned! So far the drama looks like being made on a very low budget, but enough said, the opening and closing theme songs are good though, so here they are…

Go Through, Grow Through (日劇《Life 線上的我們》片頭曲) – Ryu Matsuyama
Just watched the first episode of the brand new Japanese 4-episode drama Life ~ Love on The Line (Life 線上の僕ら) based on the manga of the same name, and this is the opening theme song, Go Through, Grow Through by Ryu Matsuyama. Love the song!

【Perth’s Kitchen】Som Tum / Green Papaya Salad
Now if you are thinking Perth here meant the city of Perth, you would be totally wrong, LOL… Perth is a half Thai, half Australian actor. He is one of the ensemble cast in the 14-episode Thai drama, My Engineer, which just has its finale episode over the weekend. Today his YouTube channel popped up with this cooking video, so I watched it… What? In the drama, he virtually did not have much dialogue as his character, Ram, is a very quiet person, very loyal to his friends, but does not talk to anyone he’s not familiar with. Then in this short cooking video, he did more talking than the whole of the 14 episodes of the drama, and in two languages, Thai and English with an Aussie accent! He is even fluent in Japanese too! That totally floored me, LOL…

Update August 19, 2020: Added the official theme songs’ MV from the TV sereis, My Engineer (程心程意), which were released at the end of July… They even get the 7 actors to star with new scenes in the MV and not used scenes from the series…

This song popped up as a recommendation for me on YouTube a couple of days ago, a duet sang by Malaysia’s queen of love songs, Fish Leong (梁靜茹), and Taiwanese singer/songwriter Eve Ai (艾怡良). I thought the title sounded familiar, so I played it, and yes, I have heard the song years before and really like it, so it is a remake. Then the heartfelt music video made my eyes tear up…
